Trail of the Ancients in Moorea Workshop

Our intimate group will travel through Moorea, one of the lushest and most unspoiled islands in the world. It's also one giant photo-op. We will photograph a range of landscapes from beaches to hilltop vistas, as well as archeological ruins. We'll learn when a wide-angle lens delivers the best results and when a telephoto lens does. How and where is it best to add in something for perspective. Most of all, how do we find the perfect shot in the midst of  this perfect place.  We'll cover it all and more. While photo guides Roger Paperno and Jesse Kalisher guide us through this island with the photographer's eye, we will also discover a side of Tahiti rarely experienced by visitors, as we journey through the Opunohu Valley with resident archaeologist Mark Eddowes. Visit Belvedere lookout point for breathtaking views of Cook's Bay, and descend to an ancient temple at the edge of the native forest. Mark will describe the rites and ceremonies conducted in honor of ancestral spirits and lead a guided walking tour along the ancient trails - all while you develop your photographer's eye at the forefront of the excursion.

Bora Bora Off-Road Photographic Adventure

Our group will mount up in a unique off-road photographic adventure that traverses the road-rarely-traveled. We’ll spend much of the day exploring places accessible only by Land Rover, photographing everything from the flora and vistas to the unique village life of Bora Bora. You’ll start in the small town of Vaitape on the shore of Pofai Bay and then ascend to photograph the amazing views of Bora Bora’s harbor as seen from the top of Pahonu Hill. You’ll continue on to photograph the relic WWII U.S. Marine Corps cannons untouched in their original locations, as well as spectacular views and flora at a majestic mountainside plantation. At every step of the way, celebrated photographers Jesse Kalisher and Roger Paperno will help you get the most out of your camera while helping you identify and develop your creative voice. How and where is it best to add in something for perspective? And how do we get that silken look from moving water? How do photographers capture the majesty of such a spectacular landscape? You'll cover it all and more on this island that delivers one amazing photograph after another.
