Gabrielle Stravelli is an award-winning vocalist and songwriter who has garnered critical acclaim and a loyal following through her rich sound, original compositions, and unique take on material from the Great American Songbook, as well as by contemporary artists as varied as Willie Nelson, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, and John Fogerty. A trained actor, she has a soulful sensitivity for the story in the lyric and was called “a powerhouse of individual expression” by David Finkle of The Village Voice.

Highlights of her career include touring the U.S. with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, headlining four international tours sponsored by the U.S. State Department (including concert performances and leading clinics and masterclasses), and receiving two rave reviews from the New York Times.  Her full bio is available on her website: http://www.gabriellestravelli.com/bio.

Pat O’Leary
Vocalist

Over the course of a 40-year career as a professional bassist, Pat O’Leary has worked with Diana Krall, Bucky and John Pizzarelli, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Illinois Jacquet, and Lionel Hampton, with whom he recorded the Grammy-nominated “Sentimental Journey.” He also has participated in more than a dozen international State Department-sponsored tours, acting as a United States “Jazz Ambassador.”

Aboard The Gauguin, these dynamic entertainers will perform a variety of material, including jazz standards, selections from the Great American Songbook, original compositions, and fresh arrangements of pop and theatrical classics. Featured performances include these shows:

  • A tribute to the great American jazz vocalist Ella Fitzgerald
  • An exploration of the timeless music of American writers Johnny Mercer and Hoagy Carmichael
  • A showcase of the music of Richard Rodgers, ranging from standards he wrote with Lorenz Hart to musical theater classics composed with Oscar Hammerstein
  • A interpretation of the music of Willie Nelson through a jazz lens
