Shore Excursion Terms & Conditions

Please note that not all shore excursions are available on all sailings. Descriptions and pricing may vary.  Shore excursions will not be available for pre-booking until approximately 60 days prior to sailing (with the exception of the Romantic Escapades excursions) and can be added to your booking via the "Manage your trip" online tool.  If you have questions please contact our Reservation Department at 1 (800) 848-6172 for assistance.

Uprising Beach Resort

Head to Uprising Beach Resort, for a day of relaxation and fun. Enjoy a buffet lunch set right on the beach, featuring international flavors and Fijian favorites. There are two full service bars, and one right at the water's edge. For those looking for a bit of activity, the resort provides optional snorkeling safaris in Beqa Lagoon, Jet Ski rentals, tube rides, a fresh-water swimming pool, and the perfect sand beach, suitable for swimming at both low and hides tides. Free fun activities include beach volleyball, handicraft making, touch rugby and beach soccer.

Please note: Wear comfortable flat-soled shoes, clothing suited to the weather conditions, a hat, sunscreen and bottled water. At the end of the tour, optional shopping is available in Suva town before returning to the pier. The drive takes approximately. one hour, one way.

Urata Village & Waterfall

After an approximate 30-minute scenic drive, you will arrive at the village where you will be met by your hosts and escorted to the village hall for a traditional welcome ceremony before you trek up to the waterfall. There will be a few stops enroute where your guides explain about the plantation including it's kava, tapioca, taro, bananas and papayas. They will also show and demonstrate the many uses of medicinal herbs that are still practiced in rural villages like Urata. Enjoy a swim in the three fresh water natural pools at different levels to refresh your body and soul after the 40-minute trek. After the swim, return for a guided tour around the village and experience some cultural interactive activities like basket and mat weaving. At the end of the tour, enjoy refreshments (green coconut, assorted tropical fruit, cakes and chilled water) and you'll have the opportunity to purchase locally woven handicrafts before returning to the pier.

Please note: Guests are kindly asked to dress conservatively and mindfully of the Fijian culture, by avoiding wearing vests, skimpy tops, swim wear, short pants for ladies, and hats during the village tour. Please bring bottled water from the ship. Bring along your camera for photos and cash to purchase souvenirs. Those wishing to swim, please wear your swimwear and bring a beach towel from the ship.

Visit of Taipivai Valley

Nuku Hiva’s spectacular beauty is yours to discover during this off-road adventure in the Taipivai Valley.

Depart the pier for the ride to the Taipivai Valley, one of the richest archaeological sites in the Marquesas Islands.The Taipivai Valley is a location made famous by the American writer and former sailor, Herman Melville (1819-1891), who deserted his ship and hid in this valley. Captured by indigenous natives, he lived in the Taipivai Valley for three weeks, a period during which he observed their way of life. This experience was the inspiration for his first novel, Typee.

En route to the Taipivai Valley, you will ride through the island’s interior along a steep trail lined with lush flora and vegetation, then traverse exquisite mountain terrain. Along the way, you’ll enjoy many opportunities to take magnificent photographs, as you stop several times to take in spectacular vistas of the coastline, bays, and valleys. At one particular stop, you will see your ship anchored in the Bay of Taihoae. Next, you will drive through Taipivai’s small agricultural villages, then proceed to a long stretch of beach at the end of the village. Here, you will stop again to admire splendid vistas of the valley and surrounding mountains.

Following your visit, you will reboard your off-road vehicle for the return ride to the pier.

Please note: As this tour involves travel over rough, uneven terrain, it is not recommended for guests with back and/or neck problems. The tour involves very little walking. Guests are encouraged to wear insect repellant or coconut oil for the skin (monoi) to ward off small beach mosquitoes (nonos). Pricing listed is per person. Space is imited to a maximum of 4 guests per vehicle. It is recommended that families and friends wishing to ride together contact the Travel Concierge Desk aboard ship in order to be assigned the same vehicle. Although the drivers used are the best available, they are not guides, and their command of English is poor. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Vuda Lookout Tour

Visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, home to around 2,000 species of orchids, then visit the chiefly village of Viseisei in the Vuda District where the native Fijians first settled after arriving in 1500 B.C. Enjoy some fruits in season and chilled fruit juices to quench your thirst while viewing panoramic, 360-degree breathtaking mountain and ocean overlooking the Bay of Nadi at the Vuda lookout point. Stop at Lautoka City Centre for souvenir shopping before returning to the port.

Please note: Recommended dress code shorts/skirts and Polo or T-shirts, something cool. Bring along your camera and currency to for purchasing souvenirs.

Waisale Rain Forest & Reserve

The Waisale Reserve is one of the few remaining unexploited forests in Fiji and is the natural habitat for the native Fijian hardwood - some of the trees being more than 100 years old. Around 50% of the protected area is dense 'dakua' forest (Fiji Kauri). Other native trees prevalent in the area include native softwoods such as Yaka and Yasi. There are about 30 species of orchids found in the area.

Birds found in the reserve include the rare Orange Dove, the Red Shining Parrot, the Coloured Lory and the Orange Breasted Myzomela among others. So far, 21 species of birds have been found in the reserve, which represents about 40% of the breeding land bird species found in Fiji. The quiet setting is disturbed only by the occasional sound of the barking pigeon. Take time to relax in the bure beside the rock pool which is home to finfish species, eel, prawn and freshwater snails. The reserve freshwater fauna are unique so the pool is kept undisturbed and is not suitable for swimming.

Please note: Guests are encouraged to wear a hat, sunglasses, sun screen and comfortable walking shoes for this tour. Please bring bottled water from the ship. This tour is not recommended for guests with heart conditions, as this tour includes strenuous uphill and downhill walking.

Waverunner & Snorkeling

Depart from Rotoava village for a short drive to the Waverunner Base. Commence your tour with a safety briefing, then continue your guided tour with a ride along the scenic coast. During your tour, you will have the opportunity to snorkel and one of the stops will be a visit to the black pearl shell lines. One bottle of water per person is offered.

Please note: Bring your snorkel gear from the ship. Operation of this tour is dependent upon weather and water conditions. This tour is priced per-waverunner, which will accommodate two average-sized adults (weight limit 500 lbs). When pre-requesting this tour, please select only one ticket.

Waverunner & Snorkeling Adventure

Start your tour with a short introduction on how to drive your VX Yamaha 250CC Waverunner. Afterwards, your guide will take you for a ride around the north-eastern side of Taha'a's lagoon. Stop for explanations on the way to your snorkeling stop. The Waverunner has a spacious compartment where you can store your snorkeling gear. You will stop at one of the most beautiful coral gardens and have one of the most memorable snorkeling experiences during your cruise.

Waverunner Adventure

Experience Moorea's idyllic coastal beauty in an exciting new way during this fun-filled waverunner adventure.

Depart the pier for the boat transfer to the waverunner center. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety and simple operating instructions from your guide, then embark your waverunner and begin your ride.

Led by your guide, you will cruise either along the west coast of Moorea or through the spectacular Opunohu Bay or Cook's Bay. Along the way, a stop will be made at Motu Ono for an opportunity to feed elegant and graceful rays as they swim around you in the shallow water. Fresh fruit and beverages will then be served on the motu.

Following your visit, you will be transferred to the waverunner center, then back to the pier.

Please note: This tour is priced per wave runner, which can accommodate two average-sized adults, maximum weight per wave runner is 500 lbs. Please select only one ticket for 2 guests. You will be required to wear a lifejacket during the ride, remain in line and follow no closer than 30- yards behind your guide. There is a small storage compartment on board the wave runner. The total wave runner ride is approximately 45-50 minutes. The minimum age to drive is 16 years and minimum 10 years to be accompanied by an adult. This tour is recommended for guests in good physical condition. Guests with back and/or neck problems are discouraged to participate on this tour.

In the heart of the tropical rainforest, just minutes from Pacific Harbour, Fiji's 'Adventure Capital', lies ZIP FIJI's private eco-reserve - a biological paradise. The guides help you use special equipment and techniques to experience this amazing wilderness from a unique perspective. Feel the rush of adrenaline as you WHOOSH over eight zip lines high above the forest floor and the Wainadoi River valley. Enjoy a classic 'canopy tour' with stunning views and thrilling rides while you experience the area's distinctive flora and fauna and local culture accompanied by English-speaking native guides.

Please note: Wear comfortable clothing you don't mind getting a little dirty or wet and that will not interfere with the adjustment of the harness or helmet. Closed-toe sport shoes provide the best protection for your feet, however strap-on sandals are acceptable. Bring your camera, bottled water and insect repellent with you to the tour site. As it rains periodically throughout the day, you may want to bring a lightweight poncho or jacket or a change of clothing. Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Participants must be reasonably fit, weigh less than 135 kg (300 pounds), be at least 5 years of age and have a torso length of at least 45cm (18 inches). Children under legal age (18) must be accompanied by an adult. The tour is not recommended for persons with asthma, balance problems, epilepsy, heart problems, some disabilities, back, neck or shoulder problems or those who are pregnant.
