Glenn Kranking is a historian with an expertise on the Baltic Sea region in the 19th and 20th centuries. He has taught courses on Scandinavian, Russian, and European history, with seminars on Nordic explorers, minorities in Europe, and nineteenth century urbanization. Glenn received his Ph.D. degree in history from The Ohio State University, and he has published chapters in several books about his research on the Swedish minority in Estonia. He is currently an Assistant Professor of History and Scandinavian Studies at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota. Glenn has lived and researched in Sweden, Estonia, Finland, and Russia. His current research is looking at nineteenth century Swedish travelers in the Russian empire.
