From snorkeling adventures in a traditional outrigger canoe to discovering lush rainforests on a thrilling ATV excursion, our rich collection of shore excursions allows you to explore French Polynesia and the South Pacific in the manner that appeals to you most—both above and below the waterline as well as on shore.
Long-standing partnerships in every island ensures your discovery is led by the most experienced and knowledgeable experts. Here we invite you to explore your options either by port of call or type of activity. Shore excursions are available to pre-book approximately 60 days prior to sailing; diving tours must be booked on board. Guests and their travel advisors can pre-book their excursions by calling our Reservations Department at 1 (800) 848-6172. We look forward to revealing Polynesia to you soon!
Please note that not all shore excursions are available on all sailings. Descriptions and pricing may vary. Shore excursions will not be available for pre-booking until approximately 60 days prior to sailing (except for the Romantic Escapades excursions). Seven days or less prior to embarkation, shore excursions can only be booked onboard. New tours, not previously listed for online sales, may be available onboard without prior notice. Explore Rarotonga’s pristine natural beauty in an exciting way during this off-road tour of the island’s stunning lagoons, valleys, and inland villages.
Depart the pier in an off-road, open-top safari truck for a drive to Rarotonga’s back roads and valleys. Along the way, you will be privy to sights and sounds regular visitors to the island would not typically have an opportunity to experience.
You will learn how traditional Cook Islanders live, and your guide will provide you with an informative commentary on the various traditional uses of local flora and fauna.
Following your tour, you will be returned to the pier.

Muri lagoon cruise

Rarotonga’s spectacular tropical beauty and marine life are yours to discover during this scenic and memorable cruise on the Muri Lagoon.
Depart the pier for the transfer to the Muri, Rarotonga’s inner lagoon. Upon arrival, you will embark a glass-bottom boat and begin your cruise. Along the way, you will observe a myriad of colorful coral and fish. More adventurous guests will have an opportunity to go snorkeling among the schools of tropical fish. The fish are extremely tame and used to swimmers, and will take food from your hand.
Following your cruise, you will be transferred back to the ship.
· Wear your swimsuit under a cover-up, and bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a towel from the ship. The boat is covered and features a water-access ladder. There are no rest room facilities on the boat. Snorkeling equipment will be provided.

ATV guided tour*

Depart from the pier of Rotoava Village for a guided tour of the northern part of the island by ATV.
Pass by the airport on the way to the North Pass and visit the small ancestral temple, Teinoka. Along the way, you will also visit the old sea cucumber oven.
· For insurance purposes, each driving participant must present credit card details and a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age. The minimum age to ride as a passenger on this tour is 6 years old. During the tour, one bottle of water per person is offered. After the tour, guests will be offered a beverage of beer or juice per person. *This tour is priced per ATV which can accommodate two average-sized adults.

Discover the southern pass of Fakarava

From the north of the island of Fakarava, you'll set off by boat to discover the southern pass of Fakarava and the village of Tetamanu. On your first stopover, you will have the opportunity to go snorkeling at the village of Tetamanu. During this snorkeling in one of the most beautiful coral reefs in Polynesia, you will be amazed by the impressive underwater life, sharks and a multitude of tropical fish.
Your second stop is a 10-minute boat ride from Tetamanu, the famous pink sandbanks of the southern atoll of Fakarava, where during this 20-30 minute stop you will be able to enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. Re-board the boat for a 30-minute trip to Hirifa, where a Paumotu barbecue (local Polynesian style) will be served after an hour's preparation, giving you time to enjoy and relax on the beach. The buffet includes fresh fish (raw and cooked), rice and coconut bread, as well as a selection of drinks. After lunch, you can take part in a cultural weaving demonstration (hats and crowns). Your return to Rotoava will take place after the cultural demonstration.

The snorkeling part involves swimming in deep water in areas subject to strong currents. The long boat journey to and from the South Pass can be bumpy, depending on weather and sea conditions (around 1h to 1 and a half hour one way). This trip is not recommended for guests with mobility issues, with back or neck problems, or those prone to seasickness. Please bring your snorkeling equipment, beach towel, snorkeling shoes and some cash for souvenirs. The Tuamotus are very remote islands. Although the guides used are the best available, their command of English can be very poor. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Take control of your Cessna 172 plane (or Piper PA28 if Cessna not available), together with a professional instructor and experience an amazing hour scenic flight over Moorea and Tetiaroa. No prior flight experience is required to fully enjoy this unique Flight Initiation Tour.
Your tour starts with a drive from the pier to the local Airport - Temae, where your airplane is waiting. After a brief lesson on how to control the plane, your dream will finally come true: pilot your own plane. View the beautiful Cooks and Opunohu Bays, Mount Rotui and the crater area.
During your flight you might also spot dolphins, sharks and stingrays in the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon. Lying just 30 miles North of Moorea, Tetiaroa is the breathtakingly beautiful atoll comprised of a dozen idyllic islands surrounding a spectacular lagoon. Fly over the graceful atoll and spot The Brando, an exquisite private resort as well as the pristine natural landscape hosting many different types of birds, coral and marine life.
Finally, you will land back at Temae Airport where your transfer will return you to the pier.

Only one guest pilots the plane from the start to the end of the flight as no seats exchange is allowed. The maximum number of guests per flight is 3 (1 instructor, 1 pilot (guest) and 2 passengers), the maximum combined weight per group is 210Kg/460 lbs. Minimum age not required, however to fly the plane, the children have to be accompanied by an adult and be able to reach the plane pedals. Booking deadline is 4 days before the date of the flight. The transfer from the pier to the airport and back depends on the number of guests attending the flight and is not included in the tour price. Transfer cost is 30$ per person round trip. Not recommended for pregnant women, guests with heart problems and no diving allowed 24 hours before the flight. *This tour is priced per plane, which can accommodate 3 average-sized adults.

Sunset sail in Moorea

Discover the scenic magnificence of Moorea during a memorable sunset cruise.
Depart the pier aboard a luxurious catamaran, and set sail to Moorea's north coast for a visit to two of French Polynesian's most beautiful bays, Cook's and Opunohu. Enjoy the breathtaking views and photo opportunities of Moorea. You will be served a cocktail or a glass of wine while sitting back and taking in the beauty of your surroundings.
Following the sunset cruise, you will return to the pier.
· Participants will be required to take off their shoes prior to boarding the catamaran. The boat captain may decide to restrict outside sailing and modify the itinerary depending on prevailing weather conditions, winds, and currents. Kindly note that the use of sails is weather dependent.

Glass-bottom boat

Get acquainted with the coral gardens and tropical fish of Rangiroa during this scenic glass-bottom boat tour. Depart the pier aboard a glass-bottom boat, then slowly float over the huge coral heads that cluster in shallow areas inside the Tiputa Channel.
Along the way, you will see a colourful world full of parrot fish, butterfly fish, and surgeon fish through the large windows. You may also encounter black-tipped sharks, and catch a glimpse of the majestic Napoleon fish. During the tour, your Polynesian boat crew will attract the fish directly under the glass panels to make it easy for you to observe and photography them.
A cover will provide protection from the sun and eliminate glare, enabling you to take home great photographs.
Following your tour, you will be transferred back to the pier.
· This is not a snorkelling tour. This tour takes place at Motu Nui Nui. Marine life is widely present in this region; however, sightings cannot be guaranteed and tickets are nonrefundable should a sighting not occur. The Tuamotu's are very remote islands. Rangiroa's spectacular and diverse marine life is yours to discover during this scenic and memorable ride in the Tuamotu Islands.
Depart the pier via local boat for the ride to Motu Nui Nui, a natural, open-water aquarium renowned for its marine life. Upon arrival, you will receive your safety instructions, then enter the water to explore your surroundings.
Along the way, you will observe an abundance of colourful fish and coral and marine life. Your guide will offer assistance in the water and throughout the tour.
During the tour, you will also have an opportunity to hand-feed the fish. Following your snorkelling session, you will be transferred back to the pier.
· This tour is recommended for guests who are in good physical condition and used to snorkelling in deep water and strong currents. The Tuamotus are very remote islands. Although the guides used are the best available, they are not certified, and their command of English may be very poor; thus, narration will be very limited tonon-existent. Waverunner & snorkelling*

Depart from Rotoava village for a short drive to the waverunner Base. Commence your tour with a safety briefing, then continue your guided tour with a ride along the scenic coast, you will start your adventure and discover the Fakarava lagoon with your waverunner.
During your tour, you will have the opportunity to snorkel and one of the stops will be a visit to the black pearl shell lines.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to Rotoava to embark your ship.
